Code of Conduct

The Games Unlimited Code of Conduct

Games Unlimited has developed a vibrant, friendly, and diverse community over the years, and we seek to expand this welcoming spirit while maintaining the amazing relationships we’ve already built with our staff and our customers. To this end, we ask that everybody entering Games Unlimited, using our community Discord server, or interacting with our social media accounts, abide by the following guidelines:

  • Bullying, harassment, and abusive language are not tolerated at Games Unlimited. Unacceptable behaviors include intentional misgendering, deadnaming, use of slurs or epithets, harassment, refusing to leave someone alone, and shunning.

  • If we can tell that you are intoxicated, we will ask you to leave. This includes smelling strongly of alcohol or marijuana.

  • Likewise, anyone found to have brought drugs or open alcohol into the store will be asked to remove them from the store.

  • No smoking or vaping in the store.

  • Please take care of your hygiene. If we can smell you, we may ask you to clean up or leave. We do provide single-use hygiene supplies in the customer restroom, no questions asked.

  • Weapons are prohibited on Games Unlimited premises except for authorized staff and law enforcement. Obvious, open carry, or concealed alike are not permitted.

  • Unless explicitly part of a game or other authorized or official activity, please refrain from running or horseplay in the store.

  • Violence, theft, and property damage (both of store property or that of others in the store) will not be tolerated and may result in law enforcement involvement if we deem it necessary.

  • Participating in any of our in-store events may result in your photo being taken, or your likeness and voice being captured in video, and used in our social media posts and/or advertising. We will honor any request that your likeness not be used publicly.

  • Be welcoming to everyone, but especially to new players.

  • Be mindful of younger players. Please keep your language PG.

  • Our Game Gurus are not babysitters. Many of our events and demos are family-friendly, but children under 13 require accompaniment by a guardian. Both parents/guardians and children are equally expected to abide by this code of conduct.

  • Be excellent to each other. All of the rules above come down to this. Just be respectful, be yourself, and help us to ensure that everyone else feels safe to be themselves here, as well. When in doubt, choose kindness.

These guidelines are not exhaustive. We never want to ask anybody to leave, but we reserve the right to do so if we deem it necessary to protect ourselves or our community. This is completely at the discretion of Games Unlimited and of Games Unlimited staff and other explicitly authorized persons.
